Here now
One step at a time,
Place your foot down,
Slowly,
Feel the shifting weight.
The gingery smell of the duff
Beneath these friendly woods -
Ah.
Who is it that sings?
One step at a time,
Place your foot down,
Slowly, slowly,
Watch how you carry your self.
These sturdy legs and feet,
World-worn and strong
Are here now.
The sun is setting now, too soon
Behind the fringed limbs
Beyond the stolid hill
And this darkness will soon be
Even darker.
Who lights the candles now?
One step at a time,
Place your foot down.
Place your foot down,
Slowly,
Feel the shifting weight.
The gingery smell of the duff
Beneath these friendly woods -
Ah.
Who is it that sings?
One step at a time,
Place your foot down,
Slowly, slowly,
Watch how you carry your self.
These sturdy legs and feet,
World-worn and strong
Are here now.
The sun is setting now, too soon
Behind the fringed limbs
Beyond the stolid hill
And this darkness will soon be
Even darker.
Who lights the candles now?
One step at a time,
Place your foot down.

"If this be death, I soon shall be/from every pain and sorrow free/all is well, all is well."

Thank you, wonderful.
I used to sing Sacred Harp songs once upon a time. Never got into them to the extent I gather you have. But I enjoyed their sturdy, haunting harmonies.
bless you moose xxxxx
