Hang in there, it will come soon. February is the cruelest month, I think. Here, the weather is being very indecisive. Yesterday it snowed like crazy in the morning (while the birds sang) and today it's all melted away. Stay warm, mi amigo!
where are you mb? we are about to have the coldest temps in 12 years - after all the lovely spring weather with budding trees and bulbs coming up and perennials showing green crowns!
now we must stake our more tender perennials and shrubs and cover them with blankets! we may have to add mulch to the huecheras. i worry about the dahlias whose tubers we don't normally need to dig to protect.
Sky, good luck! It's always worrisome when those little green sprigs show up before they should. I hope you are able to save what you have. I'm here at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, where the sagebrush sea (desert) bumps up against the foothills of the mountains... in Idaho. It's colder here than in Washington, no green things pushing up, but I did get some robins!
