Salt

Breathless, squinting. The dry, crunchy, vastness glares like a snowfield.
Constant, vicious wind tries to push us over, throws salt
in our eyes, peppers our cheeks with miniscule stinging pellets.

Zhoen has the local advantage. ;-) It's Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. A strange place. That's not sand; it's salt.

Z, not close by on a regular basis. Just passing through. Sometime it would be fun, though.

Z, no I haven't, but we did see the Saltair Palace wavering like a mirage out of a Thousand and One Nights.
