M-L, this was definitely not intended to be scary, though I understand now it might be interpreted that way. In my thinking, it had more to do with exploring the metaphor of windows — light and shadow, visible and not visible, penetrable and impenetrable, intimacy and distance.
As in "fenestrated endothelium", very important in kidney filtration or in German...Das Fenster "the window". I like it! Thanks
