An owl's feather:
"The key then is to find your own mountain, otherwise you will be competing with people who are not even in your event, and running up against the 'shoulds' and 'oughts' of that world, and the inevitable frustration and depression and feelings of failure. A person can be complete or incomplete, but one thing is sure; he cannot be someone else."

That is the most perfect photo!
Yes very nice photo, did you take it? And who is this George Sheehan, MD? For myself I would just like to have the time and space to be me.
I'm going to have to compile all these quotes for my little one. Very good instructions.
Good reminder. Silly that we have to keep being reminded of this, but it's so true.
Very profound quote--and a photo to match.
Mary and RDL, I love this photo. Not mine, stock photography, but I love it because it reminds me of plenty of scenes I've witnessed.
RDL, George Sheehan was a cardiologist, runner and author of several books you can find easily, at amazon.com for example, if you search under his name.
Mermaid, I love the idea of compiling a small book of "instructions" -- an eventual gift, perhaps. I think you are going to love being a mother.
Ken, indeed, indeed! And thank you. I'm so glad you are here.
Leslee, maybe it's silly to have to be reminded, but I find it inevitable. Perhaps it's a lack of fortitude, but I'm learning that I do best when I surround myself with the messages I benefit most from hearing. A source of nutrition, perhaps. Or brainwashing?!
Patry, I'm glad you enjoyed them both. A little inspiration now and then is a fine thing either way.
