Rain

the moon was nearly half gone
this afternoon
sliding between two trees
as if out looking

is it true the leaves don't
want to fall?

it begins to rain

scent of remembering
sound of a forgotten music
falling through the leaves
onto my wet cheek

Fantastic photograph!! I love the question. Opens up several avenues to ponder through. One, is it rain or tears? Excellent poem!!!

nicely done. I like the moon out looking. Salting this year's perch catch is almost done.

MB, I think the lines:

is it true the leaves don't
want to fall?

are so wonderful, such a captivating image, they could also stand on their own.

thanks for a thought that will carry me through weeks of autumn to come.

Still tuckered out (it will take a few days to recoup I'm sure) but am back, and all's fine...including this poem.

That ol' moon.
