The world as my oyster

Which I with sword will open.
— William Shakespeare, The Merry Wives of Windsor

a pearl grows slowly
around the grain of sand that
is lodged in my heart

I can't imagine a heart so beautiful having any blemishes...

The sand causes irritation, and thus the pearl, no? Very much like love then!

I'm allergic to oysters, btw :o)))

Beautiful pic and fine words, MB

One of my favorite pearls of yours.
I'm choked up with emotion from this poem. (Sunsets also do it to me.)

Dale, thanks. I'm sure we'd find the details very different, but I, too, have sensed certain parallels.
