Senryu Called Billet-Doux
It popped into my head this morning before breakfast without asking:
a whispered love song
in a small red envelope
for your ears only
Having lost use of Blogger mid-post yesterday (does anybody know what happened?), I'll add the information I initially forgot: Written for the word of the day (a few days ago), billet-doux, at Poem of the Day.

Love that word, too! It came in my word of the day email and it's one I saved. :-)
This poem is so sweet... I like the brevity.
I love when that happens... when a poem just appears in my head... when the muses visit.
Yeah, I couldn't get on at one point yesterday... sorry you lost the rest of the poem.

Gemma Grace, I like your eyes when they're smiling! Thank you.
Leslee, it's a word that sounds so sweet, just the sheer sound of it. Let alone if pronounced correctly in French...
EP, thanks for your good thoughts. I didn't lose part of the poem, fortunately — it always was short and sweet. Did lose my train of thought while posting, however!
Ken, I'd forgotten about those lucky red envelopes. I was thinking of valentines. But mostly I was wishing I could open one and actually hear a song whispered in my ear... wouldn't that be extraordinary?
